NEW LIVERY HELPS TO GALVANIZE NATIONWIDE FLEET
A business based in the Black Country has rolled out a new look for its nationwide fleet of more than 100 trucks.
Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd runs a collection and delivery service at each of its 14 plants across the UK and has been keen to modernise the livery across the entire operation.
RAIL OPERATOR APPOINTS NEW ENGINEERING DIRECTOR
Rail operator West Midlands Trains (WMT) has announced this week that Zena Dent has been appointed its new engineering director. Her appointment was confirmed ahead of International Women in Engineering Day 2020, which was celebrated this week on Tuesday, 23rd June.
As engineering director at WMT, which runs services under the West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway brands, Zena will oversee the implementation of two brand new train fleets as well as the maintenance of the existing fleet.
Zena, who joined WMT as a project manager in 2018, will become one of only a handful of female engineering directors working at Britain's train operating companies when she takes up her post on July 6. She will be the first woman to hold the position at a West Midlands rail franchise.
HOMESERVE JOINS FTSE 100
HomeServe, the international home repairs and improvements business, and Chamber Patron member, joined the FTSE 100 Index earlier this month alongside Avast, GVC Holdings and Kingfisher, as a result of the June 2020 quarterly review.
In the rebalance, the four heavyweights, Carnival, Centrica, Easyjet and Meggitt leave the FTSE 100 index and enter the FTSE 250 index.
