REVOLUTIONARY WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH IMPLEMENTED AT MOLINEUX
Wolverhampton Wanderers have become the first professional football team to partner with revolutionary workplace mental health platform Unmind.
After being rolled out across the workforces of some of the biggest brands in the world, including John Lewis, British Airways and Just Eat, Unmind’s scientifically backed digital platform has been made available to help support the mental health and wellbeing of Wolves’ employees and professional players.
The proactive and preventative platform can be accessed through mobile and desktop devices by all Wolves staff totally anonymously, as the club seeks to provide innovative support to its employees during the current uncertain times and beyond.
GETTING READY TO OPEN THE DOORS
The Mount Hotel, Wolverhampton’s only four-star hotel, has been getting ready to open its doors once again after being forced to close in March as the Coronavirus pandemic hit.
A thermal imaging camera to detect people with high temperatures has been installed along with foot-operated hand sanitizers stations, glass screens between tables in the restaurant and communal areas, antibacterial and antiviral wrappings placed on all doors, handles and light switches and state of the art high-temperature wash machines back of house, are just some of the measures put in place so the venue can welcome guests back.
“It is an incredibly tough time for the industry,” Scott Bernard, Director at Aspen Leisure, who own The Mount, told Prosper, “All our staff are kitted out with PPE and we’ve spent over £30,000 making the adjustments and closing for so long has meant a loss in turnover of around £900,000.”
The hotel will now reopen on 4th July following this week’s government announcement.
DIRECTOR OF LEGACY APPOINTED
Partners involved in organising the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games have appointed a Director of Legacy for the major international event.
Nicola Turner MBE started the new partnership role in May and will lead the planning and delivery of all legacy programmes associated with the largest sports and cultural event ever to be staged in the West Midlands.
Building on work already done by the key partners leading on this area of the Games, including Birmingham 2022, the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Birmingham City Council and the West Midlands Combined Authority, Nicola, who received an MBE in 2015 for services to the West Midlands following her work on SME growth and graduate retention, will be responsible for galvanising the partnership.
LAW FIRM REOPENS OFFICES AS LOCKDOWN RESTRICTIONS EASE
Midlands law firm FBC Manby Bowdler has become one of the first legal firms in the region to re-open its offices following the introduction of new safe working measures, including a new desk booking system.
The first week saw a staggered return by FBC Manby Bowdler team members working safely in their office environment ensuring all measures were fully implemented before opening to the public, via an appointment only system, on June 8.
